Been a while since I posted, but I wanted to show off a few of the latest round of LCDT’s (Legless Cheese Death Tables). Old joke by now, but still worth mentioning. Nyuk nyuk.
So, I wanted to try something different with the overall shape and handle configuration. For the opposing sloped corners, I used my 4” dust port as a template. Eased all of the edges to take off the sharp corners. Set up a few stop blocks on the router table to offset the recessed handles.
Spent a lot of time at the end of the summer creating thin strips of all species. They always come in handy. I stock piled a few hundred strips and incorporated a few into these boards. Also put in a few strips of walnut and maple veneer into a few. Walnut, cherry, maple, curly maple, padauk, bloodwood, purple heart, and sapele. Finished with the 50/50 salad bowl finish mineral spirits mix. I’m really itching to try out the beeswax mineral oil next.
The numbering in the photos, I used for my personal blog so that folks could claim/purchase them. Posted 10 and sold them all within 3 hours. First time they ever sold that quick.
Anyways, I’m happy to answer any questions. I hope these inspire.

Wow! You always do nice work – I’m not surprised that they sold so well. How thick are they? And, roughly, how much do you get for something like this? Is it worth it considering the time they take? Nice to see you posting again.
That looks like some pretty curly maple. Have you been down to see my buddy Chris Johnson (CP Johnson Hardwoods) yet?
