Laptop Stand

I use my laptop while I sit on a reclining sofa and I needed a place to put the laptop when I’m done or when I (rarely) get up. I built this simple stand out of pine boards; there are blind dadoes for the shelves, the top is attached with screws which are plugged. I put an ogee edge on the top. The wood was really light when I went to finish it, I used Antique Improver and the thing has darkened a bit as it ages. It’s difficult to photograph the beautiful finish you can get with AI, but I tried in the last photo. I also use the stand to hold woodworking books and magazines, all close at hand.

A very practical solution—I could use several of those around my house. Thanks for sharing.

I know hardwoods tend to get all the love, but I think that when pine looks good (like this does) it looks really good. And the price sure can’t be beat.

It always feels good too when you can solve a problem around the house like this without giving more money to big stores and the importers. Thanks for sharing.
