These scarf pins are handcarved- and these are my first attempts. I have no carving knives so I use a utility knife. LOL Nothing fancy of course- but the wood is mahogany- from the wood of a 100 year old shipping crate. The pins are about 6 inches long I guess. Width at the top 1-1.5 inches? Sanded then brie wax applied. I have more started- maybe one day I will finish them. ;)

Nice job. a plethora of projects on LJ today! When I only read the first few words, I thought there was going to be a sweater made of wood! Good thing I was wrong…that wood have been uncomfortable :)

Funny spun… I think what you were really thinking was “There BETTER NOT BE A SWEATER THAT IS NOT MADE OF WOOD ON THIS SITE! ” Ha! ;)

Thanks Drew. I will be in and out for a few more weeks. Get the orders finished then call it a day for a while. I need a break.

Nice going, Kelly. You keep on going with that knife and why don’t you try your hand at chip carving right around the corner. You don’t need but one knife to get started with.

Maybe this winter i will have time to do that chip carving stuff in the house. We’ll see how it goes.
