Another easy project for Christmas gift giving when time is short and money is tight. Wooden gift tag/ornaments. Use the back as a gift tag To/From. And burn the year into the back- wala- dual purpose item. No paper wasted. Makes a nice little gift for the paper lady, the postal carrier.. etc. etc. Costs you NOTHING. nada. I freehanded everything but the snowflake. The snow flake I stamped on lightly- then burned over the stamped markings. Date is on the back- sometimes on the front at the bottom. Wood in the first 2 is cedar- from left of cedar shakes that are piled in my garage. (See David/Patron? aren’t we glad we saved those?) Teh wood in the round tags is poplar- these guys are nice and big- diameter is 3-4 inches. Poplar is nice and easy to burn and is light – so less postage when shipping. I have sold about 50 sets of these. HAHAHAA.. Believe it … or not…..... These are the first ones that I did – I have gotten a bit better – or at least I like to think I have. :)

I need to go cut some more poplar. I am about all out or poplar. I don’t use the branches really- I just take the whole young tree. Nice and straight.. easy to work with. Light as heck too.

I really like these. What kind of wood burner do you have? I would love to try this.

I have a razor tip system. Don’t bother with the walmart version. Those hobby things are for little kids and they don’t get hot enough- and take forever to recover heat. The razor tip costs some bucks but you can really pump out the work. :) High school kids could use a razor tip system.

Do it Kiefer! It is nice because you write to/from on the back- burn the date in on the back- and it doubles as gift tag and ornament. :) I sell a lot of them- people seem to like them?

Now your into wood burning, LOL, Kellygal. I can here those gears in your brain turning all the way down here in Georgia. I bet those pretty little eyes of yours light up just like a lite bulb when those gears get to turning. Good work, gal. :)
