Here’s a little somethin’ that I finished up yesterday. It made me realize why Ukes should be made from koa. The tone from the get go was fantastic.

it plays well, looks great and sounds better than any other uke I’ve made yet.

Koa is a wonderful wood. And this piece is beautiful.

Very nice!
I wonder if Koa is good for other instruments as well… Hmmm.

My brothers roommate has a guitar that’s got a Koa back on it. Looks real nice.

Beautiful uke…...I am a big fan of koa, too. We have visited Hawaii seven times, and I have been known to haul back a suitcase full of koa on some of those trips. I can’t think of a more suitable use for this beautiful wood, than to make it sing island music.

I have a guy nearby me selling large slabs of this stuff. I think I may have to take some of it of his hands.
