Really nice cutting – end grain is really tricky stuff!
If you want that image to really stand out, glue a piece of black felt to the rear of it. You would be surprised at how wonderful it looks with that kind of contrast.

Thanks, I’ll give that a shot, I was considering gluing a piece of walnut to the back, and black felt would probably work even better. My mom wants a couple more made so i do some experiments.
