This is a custom order for a picture frame in the shape of a cat paw. It was created out of hard maple. The outsides and the holes for the photos was created using a CNC computerized router. The lettering was laser engraved.

This is very unique and is something you definately don’t see every day. Ditto Teri’s question.

The initial design was not created for glass. It could be a routed out to have glass. Not sure what the cost to have a glass shape that size would be.

Splinters,
How big is the frame?
I am beginning to see it in a totally different perspective. I just assumed the picture was a close up but looking at it now I suspect that I am badly mistaken.

Hi Scott
The frame was approx. 16 inches by 16 inches and 4/4 inch thick…My wife also asked about the glass thing.. when I was talking with the client it never entered our conversation…so it didnt happen….after thoughts were..it could be done…but then you would have to get glass cut special.(expensive)....client was working within a budget….gee I hope she doesnt ask the same question when she opens the package…..
