My first turnings were what ever i had that i could waste. The vase with the artifical roses is made of 4×4 preasure treated post and split open a couple of days after it was finished.

These are great for your first turnings. Keep it up!
As for the splitting, that will happen when you turn some wood that isn’t sufficiently dry.

Nice job! But I really hope you were wearing a mask when turning that pressure treated piece! I can’t imagine that the chemicals inside would be good for ya.
