I found a bird I liked online, so I ran it through a couple of Photoshop filters to get it down to its basic shades. Then I traced around each shade that was similar to create the pieces to be scrollsawn. After I scrolled each piece and sanded, I was able to use stain to ‘paint’ each of the individual pieces based on the original photo. then puzzle-pieced it back together with glue and a backer board.

Great work. From a little far it looks like a real bird.

Very nice.
