This was a little project I did for a drawer valet custom fit for one of the drawers in the chest of drawers in the master bedroom. This was a useful, quick project (and an excuse to build a finger-joint jig). Also, it was a filler project before I worked up the nerve to start my fourth project – a real workbench.

Poplar sides, with finger joints. The tray was a piece of 2×4 pine that I cut to length then coved out using my table saw & some creativity. Painted with white enamel, and lined with a dark brown craft foam. (This was before I found a source for leather).

Very cool item. I just finished a dresser top valet, and will be starting two more that i will give as Christmas presents.
