Wood Storage Rack

I built this wood storage rack back in March or April of this year. The finished rack holds 90-100 boards of lumber (up to about 10 feet long or so) and around 15-20 full-sized sheets of plywood. The rack really freed up a lot of space in the shop (garage), but still only stores about half the lumber I keep on hand. The remaining lumber is stacked vertically at the back of the garage and isn’t nearly so neatly organized.

Good use for that space right by the door Jay.
Gotta be kind of hard to climb over to get in though…lol only kidding.
You have plenty of stock on hand and that is great.
I can’t wait to see some of the projects hidden in that rack.

By the way, welcome aboard Lumberjocks and thanks for sharing your talent.

Man, when I saw that first pic, I thought the whole garage was filled with wood.

That is a great wood rack. And, it is something I need to do to gain some space. I’ve got wood all over the place. Centralization is a good thing. But it seem every time I make more space, I find more wood to fill it.

I’m jealous of all the wood you have. Oh yeah, nice rack.

Good use of space…I might have to keep this in mind. Hopefully you have another garage door…

I just relocated and rebuilt a storage rack recently. It is great to have the
shop organized (kinda) and boards at an ez reach. I like your ply wood
set up, I don’t have that. I usually just have my plywood quartered and keep
it up against the wall.
