I know. It’s getting pretty late in the year for ice cream, but I had a 5” piece of turning stock left that’s not long enough for a lathe tool handle. So I turned it from 2” square to this Michelin Man design in just a couple of minutes. BTW, the carbide tipped lathe tools are really the thing. They empower me ! ;=)
Then a quick 3/8” forstner bore, one wipe of stain with Minwax Special Walnut, three coats of Minwax Wipe Polyurethane, epoxy in the hole and set the scoop and I’m done. Elapsed time about 1 1/2 hours. It was fun.
BTW, I got the stainless scoop and ferrule awhile back from Rockler on sale for 5.99. That’s less than the price of the Cuisinart it will replace.
