What do these three things have in common? It all starts back around 7 years ago when my oldest daughter started going to Victory Baptist School and I found out the 6th grade takes a trip to Space Camp every year. Well now she is in 6th grade and they raise their own money by having a Chili Supper and a silent auction.
I built this to help raise money. I kind of cheated and didn’t go into to it blind. I knew big ticket items were hard to sell at auctions like this because they are so specialized. I had some interest in it before I started building so I catered to their taste. This way I knew at least one person would like the color and style. It was built and finished in October 2011.
We decided on the Ross style and even matched a color. We got it built the customer that helped with the style did win it. They had me build some bookcases that were not included in the auction to complete the look they were after.
I think everybody came out a winner. My friends got a murphy bed, the school raised some money, and I get to go to Space Camp. Space Camp…. I think I came out better in the deal!
