Seems like all I have been working on are refinishing projects but here is another one. It was built by the same person who built all the past pieces that I have refinished in my gallery. This desk was solid walnut and had a pretty rough, cracking finish on all surfaces except the top. The technique for getting the old finish off for this one was using a chemical stripper once again, it helped a lot since the finish was pretty thick on the top. The new finish I applied was Minwax Satin Poly, I applied a total of about 5 coats. One of my favorite things about this was that each drawer was a different size (height wise) than the others. The drawer on the bottom right was actually a deep file type drawer that utilizes 2 drawer fronts.
