Cherry and Curly Maple Crib

Project by PresiadoWoodworks posted 621 days ago 564 views 3 times favorited 17 comments Add to Favorites Watch

This is my first project to share on Lumberjocks. I am a 28 year old woodworker and have been building furnitre for the last 10 years. Both my father and grandfather are craftsmen, so the love for the age old craft runs in the family.
My wife and I are expecting a baby in June, so I decided to build a crib for our baby. The crib is made out of cherry and curly maple. I book matched the panels on either end out of curly maple and added inlays, inspired by a Laura Rittenhouse design.

Enjoy!

This is a wonderful start on your nursery. Maple and cherry are one of my favorite wood combinations. The inlays in the curly maple add nice details to the crib. I am sure that your wife is overjoyed with the project. (If she is anything like mine I will bet she has others for you to start on as well).

Very nice. How about a matching changing table?

Thanks for the post.

I sense an air of excitement for about the impending arrival. Very nice work. Beautiful job of choosing and matching woods. Inlays “ain’t too shabby neither” Glad I went back and looked through the project pages as they are getting posted so fast I missed this the first day it was posted. Well worth the lookback. Enjoy your obvious ww talents now, your free time will be shorted soon.
