OK, here is the nightstand that goes with my bed I posted. Of course it is all made from the same cherry as the bed and the mirror. I found plans in an arts and crafts plans book and modified the joinery quite a bit and added a few features here and omitted a few things there and ended up with this.

Beautiful piece. I like projects like this, because they motivate beginners to try it out, leading to this result.
Great post.

Hey fella’s, thanks for the compliments and for the welcome. It’s great to be here and have a place to share, get encouragement critiques, pointers, tips, and just good company.
It would be nice if this post did encourage another beginner to jump in and just go for it. If I can they can. It was a fun and varied project, it has through tenon joints, blind mortise and tenon joints, the top front rail is dovetailed into the tops of the legs. It has frame and panel elements and a drawer. So there were a lot of different techniques that I got to practice in this one simple little piece and that made it a great learning tool and lots of fun to boot.
Keep your eyes peeled for the dresser which will be coming sort of soon, I hope.
