Continuing the trend I thought I would post my contribution to the effort…
I made this for my youngest Goddaughter, Rebecca, who turned the big ‘1’ on 1-Nov. She will be getting this at her first birthday party on Sunday.
Construction details are identical to others you will find – I used alder instead of pine and decided to go with a whimsical painted look. I also painted an “R” (for Rebecca) and a heart on the saddle. I signed and dated the underside so, if it lasts that long, she will know it was made for her with love by her adoring Godfather.
Thanks for looking and a special thanks to Mark for the idea, the challenge and to all the sponsors for making the plans available for so many of us to enjoy.
God bless.

Fantastic! I love your paint treatment. Can they ride a rocking horse when they’re one? I’m thinking about making one for a nephew.

Thanks everyone – it was a hit at the party .. unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to see her sit on it but hope to have pictures soon.
Not sure if 1 yr olds can ride a rocking horse but, if her mother holds her, she can go for a ride until she can!
