I was contacted by someone who wanted a wall mounted display case to house a collector’s, limited edition Fender Telecaster electric guitar.
It is made from Butternut with the drawer side’s of cedar.
Finished with several coats of hand rubbed Shellac.
The size of the case is 44-3/4” X 18-1/2” X 6-3/4” (LXHXD).
The drawer which is to house paperwork, strings, picks etc. 11-15/16” X 4-1/2” X 2-3/4”.
All the dovetails are hand cut; the splines on the corners of the case are Walnut with a slight arch to add some visual interest.

Great job Ken. I love the dovetail work and the walnut you used. Leafs are off to a great start. Kessel is on fire. I am a Ranger fan but I love to wacth the Leafs.

Great display case. I like the slight arch of the splines. A nice subtle detail. Of course I can’t help but ask how someone from the Ottawa area would allow a Leafs (and not Senators) guitar to grace their work! I’m sure this is the Leafs year. Maybe you can build a display case for the Stanley Cup pararde in Toronto next June!!
An always hopeful and long suffering Leafs fan.

Yes it would have been a much easier project if it where a Sens guitar but each to there own I guess :). Oh and don’t worry the Sens have there say hidden in the case, he may never see it but I know it’s there.

added this to my ‘to do’ list. love the case! Do you just use the weight of the door and gravity to keep it closed? Magnets?

That’s a wonderful collector’s case and you did a fine job on it.
