This one of the two beds I built for my two princesses. I built a second one on the other side of the room for her twin sister, my other princess. One of the raised panels on each bed is a secret door for storage and hiding under the bed. Inside the top are shelves for placing their dolls and other toys. They were built with MDF and poplar. Thanks for looking.

Those are fantastic! They remind me of the princess bed in my daughters’ book, “The Princess and the Pea.” Coincidentally, I’m building a bed right now for each of my daughters, though nothing that grandiose. I’m sure your girls will cherish those beds for many years. Whenever you get ready to build them new ones for “older” girls, I highly recommend the book “Beds” sold by Taunton Press.

Thank you for the compliments.

How do they get up there? Well, that is what my wife asked me when I completed them. Of all the details in designing them I hadn’t considered that detail. (How humbling is that?) So, at this time they use the arm of the bench seen in the left corner of the photo until I get some step stools built.

I have a four year old girl and I’ll just say that this is flat out SWEET! My daughter would love this.
