Hey guys , these boxes are what I worked on Thursday Friday and Saturday. Both of them are made out of mahogany and soft maple. The finish that I used is butcher block oil and paste wax. The larger box opened but the smaller one does not because that one is just decorticate. I decided to not miter the corners because I liked the contrast of the light and dark wood. What I did is after I glued them up used my ridgid oscillating belt sander to sand it all flush so it feels like it is one piece. The top of the larger box is a scrap of oak. Both of these boxes are from scrap wood I had sitting around.

Nice idea on the corners. I like the way the contrast shows up.
