Been out here for sometime, and have never posted anything. It has been an inspiration to see such great work.

Just a simple wood turned bowl. Isn’t the most practical, but really has a nice look to it. The wood says it all.
Tried to leave as much of the bark, as well as the chain saw marks on it as possible….
Simple walnut oil, followed by a lacquer finish.

Shipped it off to someone that is very special to me. Hopefully it will bring her tons of happiness.

I should also say thanks to this site….everyone is such a joy, as well as being very helpful.

It was a piece of birch burl. I wandered into the local Wood craft store and they had it on sale for 5$ per pound….it was 2 pounds worth.

Thank you. California Birch. I have been trying to remember that for two years (you have no idea how happy I was when I saw this).
