These look great as well. I really like the details- onlays, dentil. They add nice touches to the pieces.
Did you do the wainscoting as well?
I promised a mantle to my wife for Christmas several years ago and it is still in the planning stage. Needless to say it is one of her serveral #1 priority projects. Maybe after seeing these posts I will find the initiative to move the project from planning into construction.

yes, very very nice!! very elegant and it looks like it fits the rest of the room beautifully

As for Scott’s comment, he is treading on thin ice if he does not take care of his wife’s priority projects. He could face a woodworking husband’s greatest nightmare: Getting cut off…..from new tools, that is. <g>
