I built this unit is for friend of mine she wanted something she could show off her collectibles and also wanted storage under the bed. So I built in three large drawers, one on each side and one in the front. This gave her plenty of storage for bedsheets and blankets. I like working with cherry, but it is expensive. 4×8 sheet of cheery plywood ran me 138.00 dollars per sheet. The third picture shows the construction of the bed frame it shows where the three drawers are located.

Wow. Sonny you just made my day. This is one gorgeous project. I agree with Gary in that she must be a very close friend. Cherry and cherry ply are expensive to work with but it is such a beautiful wood it is worth the price.
The finish and craftmanship on the pieces look real good. I like the idea of putting drawers under the bed. This is usually wasted space.
How did you finish these pieces?
Thanks for the post Sonny.

I used two different types of lighting, inside the units and above the bed I used low voltage puck lights that are on a touch dimmer. It sets the lights at HI,MED.&LOW,above the crown molding is a 12ft.rope lighting that gives up lighting to the ceiling. If you have any questions please let me know, also thanks for the compliment on the project.Hope this information is helpful.
