My wife asked me to build her a decent sized bench for sitting outside and relaxing. So of course I was more than happy to get working on my project ;)

I will have some better pictures as soon as I find them, I didn’t take many during the process, but I do have a couple more to share.

Hi Jim,

What wood did you use for the bench?

It is always a good idea to address the posts that your wife puts on your to-do list. If she is anything like mine, she will not have any trouble finding work for you to do and everything seems to be an immediate priority.

Thanks for sharing. If you can find more pictures that would be great.

Hey Scott,

I used pine for the project as I had a good deal of left over from another project I did, I just went out and got the 4×4 and 4×6s to complete what I needed for the project (aside from deck screws/stain).

Great bench Jim. Looks a bit cold there to use it at the moment.

Thanks, indeed it certainly was a tad bit chilly when I took this picture. It’s a little better here now, though.

Mighty fine looking bench Jim. The best part is when you sit down on it you can have the satisfaction of knowing you made it!

It looks solid there Jim. Nice project for sitting and contemplating the next.

Yeah, we were suprised it snowed that day too. Pleasant suprise, but unexpected.
