This is the last of the three different species that I used for this design: Cherry, Mahogany and Maple.
The inlay on top and drawer fronts are bloodwood. The four small pieces of bloodwood on the front of the doors are there for a special reason: I drilled a hole for the hinge that accidentally went all the way through the door. Bummer. Solution: cover up with decorative hinge plates on the front of the doors.

very nice contrast of beautiful woods.

I like the design, details and workmanship.

rlrjr,
Thanks for posting these. Is this your own design or do you mind telling me if these plans exist somewhere I can purchase/get them? I have been wanting to make a jewelry box for my wife and she has a lot of necklaces, so your taller design is perfect. I’m not skilled enough to look at a piece like this and figure it out. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

As for the “mistake”, I think the added bloodwood makes your third box your best one yet!

bill;

This is not my own design and I did get it off the web. I have the plans back in the shop and in the morning I’ll get the info on where to download and post it here. I never follow the plans exactly as they are printed but I get a general idea of what they are showing and take it from there.

Glad to do it for you.

This is a wonderful piece and what a nice job you did on it.

Nice save on the door hinge “inlays”. The top inlay adds a very nice touch to your project : )
