This is a bench I had to make in my apprinticeship. It is made from pine 40”Lx17”Tx113/4”D. I now use it in the mudroom for shoes. It was a fun little project. The corners are dovetailed, the shelf is grooved in. and the top and bottom face is cut into the sides for extra strenght. The bottom one is dovetailed lapped in to help the bottom from coming a part. The dye is home brewed from things like walnuts and rasberries. The finish is a secret recipe. Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Well constructed, well used piece. The mark of a successful project! I really like it.

I love seeing a project well after it’s shiny and new. The single tail rail with the nail (I sound like DR Suess) is a really nice touch.

The best finish for pine is to be lived with and loved for many years…that’s the secret.

Looks like one sturdy bench. I guess that is the kind of bench a mudroom needs. I like all the dovetails too.

This looks just like the dimensions and proportions I’ve been looking for in a bench for the front porch. Thanks, it’s going straight to favorites.
