I had an old dead cedar tree that I cut down last year that I couldn’t bring myself to burn with the rest of the brush I had. I decided to try my hand at making some bandsaw boxes out of some of it. The first box is a Lois Ventura design and the second box design was an idea born from a similar design I had seen on this site. They are both finished with 3 coats of spar varnish simply because I had it on hand from an outdoor project I did earlier in the year. Thanks for looking.

I like these especially the one with the heart in the middle. I have to wear a mask when I work with cedar, I have an mild allergic reaction from the sawdust. But I love how cedar looks too much to stay away from it.

Nice work.. I love the heart-shaped one as well.

A knot hole for a handle? Perfect. Super heart box too, must have been a chore to smooth out.
