I bought a piece of mahogany from Rick Wood’s yard, about 2” by 9” by 22” and this box happened to be inside so I thought I’d keep it. The left side has two mirrors, on the back and right side, with clear glass on the left side. A rotisserie with 8 brass hooks is mounted to the top. Drawer fronts are maple and the brass knobs came from Kennedy Hardware, LLC (on the web). Each knob was $1.15 which I thought was pretty inexpensive for solid brass. (cheapest place I’ve found so far).
I’ve got two more of this same style made, one in curly maple and the other in cherry.
Size is about 11” high by 5 1/2” deep and 10 1/2” wide.

I like the overall design , but don’t care for the visible drawers through the door.
Could just be the photo / camera angle , but the knobs appear off center when the door is closed , but perfect when opened.
Perhaps a stained glass panel would hide the drawers until opening the door and finding a nice surprise hidden inside : ) JMHO .
Would like to see the other two species . : )

Dusty56,

You are indeed right. When the door is closed the knobs do not line up with the center of the glass on the door even tho they are centered on the drawer front itself. I noticed that after I built the first one but could not figure out how to overcome that and still keep the front of the box symmetric when the doors are closed. Your suggestion of stained glass would be a great solution.

I will add the other two species to my projects page.

Thanks. :)
