It's Called Big Gulp

It’s called the Big Glup because that is the name of the main dust collection fitting I purchased from Rockler. The purpose is to remove the dust from my scrollsaw that I have been breathing for the past year. I saw a picture of a shop vac. cart that got me to thinking about this idea. I will roll right upto the scrollsaw table and it the correct height for my saw. The upper shelf will hold blades and other tools that I seem to always be chasing down. I may add a bracket for the hose connection and one or two more shelves later.

I’ll let you know later how it works.

Thanks for looking.

I’m still new to this site and keep finding great ideas…I wonder if i could modify something like this for those pesky drill press shavings. Anyway great idea, and definitly let us know how it works, nothing like some good ole inginuity to solve a problem.

I did not say that I am going to have additional fittings/adapters for my miter saw, router and sanders. Lots of ideas come from this.

This is cool, Jerrell! It’s better than what I do at the scroll saw: wear a respirator.

That’s a combination of two really good simple ideas. I was planning on making a little cart for mine this weekend. Glad I saw this, I’ll extend the sides enough to house a riser like that.

Thanks for posting it o/

Good ideas , but I think they call it a big GULP. : ) Glups became extinct several million years ago. LOL

Very interesting. That gives me some idea. I also have a Shop Vac and the hose just might fit into my Makita scrollsaw. It has a provision for a hose attachment. I’ll try it tomorrow. It’s night time here now.
