The chess board was made for an online chess buddy . I made a online diary of the process so that she could see the progress. The board is made of white oak and dark walnut . The base is made with the same white oak . The drawer faces have dark walnut inlay running across the face .

Did you edge glue all of the square pieces first, then router the grooves? or router pieces first, then glue on the pieces to the board?

bill …wish i could carve tried but just no good at it ..plus she already had the pieces
brad i routed everysquare first then glued them up ..i think i could have done that a better way
