This is a project I did with my wife. She helped lay it out and gave me some guidance along the way. It’s a piece of Koa that I had that was too thin to do much else with.
It’s meant to look a little like an axe and the head of a whale. It was power-carved then sanded to 220. I cut the “eye” out with a router, and may go back and fill it in with some contrasting material. I stained it with 1 coat of BLO and and finished it off with poly.

That is so cool to find a use for a piece that would otherwise get set a side or pitched out. Nice creative job!!
