I build this trophy case for my Grandson. He’s been collecting hockey trophies and awards and didn’t have any place to display them.
I built it out of quartersawn white oak. Unfortunantely, I couldn’t buy quartersawn white oak plywood for the back here at home and didn’t have time to go to Seattle or Portland, Oregon to pick up a sheet.
I used Min-Wax special walnut stain, then several coats of satin poly wipe-on finish. I sanded between each wipe-on coat, finishing with a 600 grit.
