Here’s another end-grain cutting board (this one for Mom). Her favorite color being purple, I went with Purple Heart for the focus wood. I’ve decided it’s much too hard/dense to be fun for sanding…who knew. I took a little inspiration from a southwest style and tried to go a little rustic and make it look a little aged with some intentional digs into the feet. The two pictures are pre- and post-oil/wax.

Thanks. I tried to make something unique and personal since it was a gift. In the future, I don’t think I’ll put purple heart and walnut next to each other very often unless going for some kind of gradual transition with other steps along the way.
