My neighbour from two doors down wanted a playhouse made for her daughter’s birthday. So I obliged (this isn’t it). Coming up to Christmas, my daughter wanted her own playhouse – “but you made one for Erin” – I must have heard that about 50 times. I finally caved in, and spent quite a while designing this chalet type offering which had everything a little girl could want. steps, porch, stable door and windows. My sister-in-law was happy to make the gingham curtains to really set it off.
The footprint is about 8’ square to get the most economical use of materials. About six months later I was commissioned to make another one for one of my daughter’s friends (although I changed the door slightly so it wasn’t identical) – glad I kept the plans.

Glad to see that the little girl gets her wish. Been there, done that. Now it’s the grandkids. I know of a family that built a playhouse that looked like the family home. Playhouse has CH&AC, fireplace. shingle roof, etc.

Heck, I wouldn’t mind having one like that myself. I’d put a cot in there for those nights when my wife was not happy with me.

Sure hope our granddaughters don’t see this. How very quaint and I am sure the girls are loving it based on those smiles. Good JOB!

Great play house, I hope my grand daughter never logs into LumberJocks or I will have no free time left :)

Very nice design and construction. You mentioned that you saved the plans. Any chance you might be willing to sell a copy of those plans?

Hello,
I am trying to get a fort built for my twin boys that are turning 10 next month. This is really nice, any chance there are plans for this?

Have your say...
