This box has been sitting for quite awhile, but finally it got there.
After a bit of a mishap – I dropped the lid and it snapped! thankfully it was a clean break and was easily put back together. That is the main reason that the lid has now got a backing on it. Its probably better this way anyway!
I have been bitten, once again, by the box making bug so there are another couple in progress.
enjoy.

Very nice TJ!
Nice joints and great proportions.
I would have used a darker wood as the backer to really show off that fantastic scrollwork of yours though! :-)

Thanks guys, it means alot to be welcomed back from all of you.
And YES it is sooooooooooo nice being back in the shed working!
As to the backing wood I really thought it was going to be a bit darker than it actually turned out to be, never mind you live and learn.

Theresa,
The box is lovely. We really like the scrolled pattern. Did you design it yourself?
Thanks for sharing.

You did a beautiful job, TJ. I love it. I’ve just acquired the box making bug myself.. working on my 4th one as we speak.
