Scrap wood balance

Well…here is my submission for the scrappy contest. The large piece of maple was from a box I messed up. The maple piece already had the miter cuts on it so I didn’t need to cut that piece. I brought a bunch of scrap wood into the house and started thinking. The top darker wood is Dalmata. I was making rings out of it and it already had the hole so not drilling the super hard wood. I used my table saw to cut out the dalmata piece, only two passes. I was looking at the joint and I didn’t think only glue would hold. I drilled a 3/8 hole though the top and base. I plugged it with an oak dowel I had laying around. I know it is not fine woodworking, but hey it’s all I had time for.

I like your take on the wine bottle balancer. Different! Good call pegging it as well.

I took a look because I am looking for ideas for bottle balancers. Did not realize if was for the balancing scrap competition. Nice work.
