Renaissance dagger sheath

This was a quick and dirty project last minute before we went to the renaissance festival. I needed to have a sheath for this dagger or I wouldn’t be allowed to take it with me.

The insert was a scrap of cherry, I planed it down to the thickness of the dagger blade, I then scrolled the shape of the blade, and sandwiched it with two small pieces of curly maple.

It was rough shaped and then finished on a belt sander and stained with mahogony. I’m not done finishing it just yet still have to decide what would look best

Love the dagger, and the fit of the sheath. Finish looks good as is.
