So if we explain exactly what these “resemble” we’d be saying too much … but they serve a purpose and some of you will know who/what they are … For the rest of you … hey they are four cool Colonel Stanley walking sticks my father (Stanley Saperstein) made – which we haven’t had a chance to get updated on his website (http://www.customwalkingsticks.com) ...

Poplar carvings, painted with acrylics on diamond willow shafts. Sealed in shellac and acrylic enamel. All our sticks are entirely hand made.

I’m curious who comments on the history of these … there’s a major battle in progress and we really can’t say too much about it!

They’d look better with a black bear on top.

It’s nice to see that folk art is still being made in todays fast pace of machined crafts.

Yes – the bears are cool – but they don’t go w/ the school … there’s a hint … but still, they are NOT affiliated in any way!

Yes – all of these pieces are folk art hand made, each one an original. The diamond willow makes them really interesting and no two are ever alike. I saved one of the REAALLLY cool diamond will staffs for myself and put it aside. All I’ve done so far is carved the diamonds out and put a coat of tung oil on it. Never got to making a head or a handle, I’ve had a few offers for $1,000 for the stick … nah it’s too cool! One day I will finish it, figuring I will be a dirty old man someday and shake it in the air and scream incoherently at people. I figure now I just scream at people, as I get older it will get less coherent and I’ll need the cane for balance.

Thanks for the feedback!

Cool, not sure who they are but I will wait for someone on here to get it! Love the character they have.

Long shot guess , wasn’t even going to suggest it until you hinted ‘school ’ later on .
