It has been a while since I posted any projects, and I have a few to do. This is a cabinet, hutch, sideboard, whatever one would call it, that I made two months ago for my bride. All panels of carcass are 3/4” oak plywood, face frame is poplar as well as the doors. It came out nice, but i really did not like working with the plywood. I believe it was the correct choice for the application, as the china in it is very heavy. My first time with oak and first time with plywood. Top coated the top with varnish. That seam to take forever, as in weeks, to get hard. But I am in Florida, humidity is very high.

Beautiful piece!

It’s an unusual color combination, but it totally works here. IMO, if you want something black, oak ply is the best choice. The grain really stands out.

Good work. Did you use primer on ply before paint?
