I had a request from a friend for two custom made shelves.
Since he already had spotted gum flooring, I decided to make something in keeping with the theme.
Construction is a stud frame with 19mm tongue and groove spotted gum boards glued and secret nailed. Satin poly finish.
They are deceptively large – the shelf with nothing on it is 2 metres across the face and the one with the TV on top is 2.5 metres – that’s a 60” plasma to provide some scale reference.
The photos don’t really do them justice.
I’m really happy with how these came out and my friend was tickled pink.

Please ignore his posts ^
That looks beautiful Boneski. I can kind of see the floor and they compliment each other pretty well. Thanks for sharing.

Boneski, don’t listen to him. He has done nothing but post stolen project and offensive things since he has been here. I doubt he is even a woodworker. Like I said, your project is beautiful.
