This is a simple project that I made to keep a growth chart of the kids as they got older. This one is removable so we can take it with us if we move. You can’t do that if you make your growth marks on the wall!

This was one of my first woodworking projects. It is made from pine. The sunflower head was cut out on the scrollsaw and the “stem” is just a 3/4”x4” board cut to length. I used acrylic paints and a spray topcoat for the finish.

Real nice idea and execution. Are you still going to measure when they’re six feet tall? BTW, I’ll be taking the kitchen door jamb with us when we move. How could one paint it or leave it behind?
