Bookcase bed with drawers

This bed has a bookcase headboard that I’ve made hundreds of times. It is an old style of mine that normally sits on a waterbed frame. On this variation, I extended the sides to be free standing instead of being able to sit on a frame.

The drawer section is an eight drawer unit with 3 sets of doors. Again I originally designed them for waterbeds (which just means they are very sturdy). The platform on top of the drawers is two pieces of MDF with the edges stained the same color as the bed.

This bed was finished in August and is built using pine wood.
