Bunk bed I made for my son. Made for my own design. I built the bed in three parts, the bed, the desk, and the stairs. The bed portion is solid oak with poplar slats for the matress to sit on. The desk is soild oak. The posts are constructed by gluing four 2.5 inch x 7/8 boards in overlaping fashion. The end result was hollow posts about 3 1/2 inches square. The desk has an LED light and the cord runs through one of the hollow posts down to an outlet. The stairs were built by first contructing a frame and risers out of construction lumber and then covering with soilid oak steps and rails, with 1/4 inch oak plywood on the sides. Three drawers are within the middle three steps for storage.
Its all finished with minwax stain and polycrylic gloss topcoat.
The open area under the bed is designed for a full size mattress to fit perpendicular to the top bunk.

That is really neat. Up the golden stairs to bed, stumble down the stairs to breakfast. Good thing there’s a railing on both counts. A solid design, sure to be fun.
