My latest lap steel-Dobro tuning. Three cigar boxes glued end to end with Maple neck straight through. Gold plated tuners. Six strings with pickup. Aluminum bridge (grounded to jack). Corian nut. 570 mm (approx 22.5”) scale. Fret markers are black ‘pin-striping’ tape. Pop rivets for string ferrules. Plays good with good volume. Pretty fun build but this one took a lot of time for some reason. Built for a cousin who is learning/playing Dobro. Tuned to open ‘G’ (GBDGBD). Danish oil finish on all exposed maple. Output jack is in end just slightly below and to the right of the neck in pic 4. Sorry for the poor pics, they were taken with an iPad, all I had with me on an out of town trip and I forgot to photograph this one before leaving town. Didn’t get strings on it till about midnight the night before leaving. Thanks for looking and as always comments and critique are welcome.
