This is the 1st box i made with legs. Quarter sawn oak makes up the sides. Legs are Walnut. The top lid is just a 3/4” stripped Maple piece i had laying around. the lid is also trimmed in Walnut. Its been pretty wet, rainey and humid here in OHIO for weeks. I cant see this top expanding anymore than it is now. So only time will tell if the lid pushes the walnut trim off when it shrinks??
Shorty after, i experimented with making 4 cabriole legs for a future box. They should be nice..

I like this project. I need to make one for my son to keep his Boy Scouts awards and junk he collects on his many camping trips. Thank for sharing!

I like the legs on the box. I was wondering how it would look if the top of the legs tapered into the side of the box. Regardless, it gives me something to think about when I start building boxes.
