A couple simple trivets

Here are a few simple trivets I built for a friend. One is walnut with cherry and maple trim, the other is cherry with walnut and maple trim. I used breadboard ends pinned with small walnut dowels to allow for movement, something that is very important when your gonna put a hot pot on them. These are about 8” x 9” and 3/4” thick. Just finished with BLO.

Good choice of wood for the trivets and proper size. They will be decorative pieces on the table. Well done.
