There are many plans on the web for boot jacks and lots of flexibility for customization. This was a satisfying project that was done mostly in one evening.
I cut out the shape with a jigsaw and doweled in a fulcrum on the bottom. The leather pieces were glued and tacked down. Finished with linseed oil.
I made this as a birthday present.

Very nice project. The grain gives it a rustic look.They will enjoy this gift.

Looks great! I too like the rustic look. I’ve been meaning to make a couple of these, just haven’t found the time.
