Commission from a client who wanted a unique coffee table for living room. The top is made up of two pieces of 5/4” ash laminated and bleached with lye (sodium hydroxide acting as a mordant) and then washed with concentrated hydrogen peroxide. The three feet are turned on a lathe, also of ash that have been ebonized; rosewood tips at floor to keep from splintering ash; clear lacquer finish. 42×16 inches.

Very cool and unique design! I love it! I wish you could put something in the photo to help give a sense of the dimensions. A ruler or apple or something the eye can relate to.

Very abstract. It is hard to get a sense of size without a reference object.

Great table, I thought you used Bowling balls for the feet. Very cool that you turned them!
