This was a year and 1/2 from concept. The cool thing is I designed this in my sleep got up and built it.
The first one was not as nice is this one but never the less exciting!

Okay you ask what is it. well it is a shaker, rain stick, drum that can be plugged into an amplifier and effects so it does lots of cool percussive sounds.

It imitates rain. it shakes (like and egg shaker) It is a finger drum if you plug it in.

Made out of figured maple and African babinga

Fun Fun Fun!

Good job, Greg! That’s a gorgeous instrument, and it’s even cooler when you can take something that you “dreamed up” (literally) and put it into reality. I sometimes compose music in my sleep, but only a few times have I been able to wake up and remember enough of it to record it in the studio.

I look forward to hearing this. Are you interested in sharing plans on how to make one? Or will this be something you manufacture and sell?

I’d love to use something like this in my recordings.

Rock on dude! Cool concept. My nephew is a drummer and would love this idea. Forget thinking out of the box, how bout thinking out of consciousness!!! Now that’s what I call dreaming up an idea.

Now Greg, the wood workmanship is excellent but the proof is in the sound.
How about a clip so we can hear it. Just a thought.
