I did this carving when I was a Viking Fan. I don’t have enough time to watch them since I retired.
Size: 6 1/2” X 9 1/2”, Black Walnut

That’s funny. I thought that retirement meant that you had a lot of spare time. Have you thought about selling it to the Vikings? You could be in a trophy case in their head office.
That means it’s good enough for a Trophy Case.

Quote Dick: ”I don’t have enough time to watch them since I retired.” I can relate to this Dick. I guess these younger LumberJocks are just going to have to wait until they discover this truth.
Again, Dick, I really like your carvings. This is especially nice.

Your losing it, just like the Vikings. They can’t win for losing.

Dick,
Makes you wonder how you ever had time to work – as busy as you are in retirement.

P.S
The Vikings are like our Minnesota Winters. that is – ever year we hope for a mild winter or a wining season-only to be dissapointed – soon and often – like this morning – our -28 below wind chill.
You would think we would learn by now.
Nothing changes.
Its still cold – and Vikings aren’t playing in the big game today.

Dick, your carvings are GREAT! I better not retire, after all. I DON’T HAVE ENOUGH TIME FOR WOODWORKING, NOW! I have a real good friend that grows orchids and he tells me, “I don’t know how I ever had time to go to work!” all the time.

Thanks for all the nice compliment everyboby.
To tell you the truth, I quit watching football a few years before retiring. It was ruining my weekends watching so much football, & not accomplishing much of anything. I used to go to work on Monday, & say to myself what a waste of time. After retiring I never went back to football weekends.

isn’t it interesting how we waste our time with so many activities/inactivities. They rob us from time with loved ones, from time with ourselves doing things we love such as carving.
I’m semi-retired and boy-oh-boy when a client calls? I think “Again??? But i have leather and wood waiting, talking to me, calling my name.”.
Great viking!!

I wish I was retired. I’m limited to my occassional Sundays and sparse days off.

You’ll get your chance someday, when I was offered early retirement, I had 3 months to decide. Boy did I ever wear our a lot of pencils figuring out if I could afford it, but I think it was the wisest decision I ever made. 16 years has gone by too fast.
